PPAC Launches "ARTS Scholarships Logo Competition" In Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the ARTS Scholarships Program
CALLING ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL DESIGNERS!
Providence, RI – 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the ARTS Scholarships program, one of the Providence Performing Arts Center’s (PPAC) longest-running community programs. PPAC is celebrating this milestone by holding an ARTS Scholarships Logo Competition, open to students who live in Rhode Island and will be in the sixth through twelfth grades, or the home school equivalent, in September 2025. P.J. Prokop, Director of Marketing and the founder of the ARTS Scholarships program, said,
We are asking students to be creative and dynamic, and design a logo that visually represents how they are inspired by and how they envision the arts. The winning logo will be used to represent the ARTS Scholarships program in 2026 and beyond. As an additional incentive, the creator of the chosen logo will receive a $600 cash award to use at their discretion.
P.J. Prokop, PPAC Director of Marketing
PPAC will accept submissions until Friday, October 17, 2025 at 3P. Students may visit ppacri.org/scholarships to review complete competition guidelines and to submit a logo design digitally. Logo submissions are also accepted via mail or in person at PPAC’s Administrative Office. Please address mailed-in submissions to:

Ricky Gresh, Director of Community Projects and the program administrator for ARTS Scholarships, said,
The chance to design a brand-new logo for the program is a great summer project for 6th through 12th graders; it also aligns with the program’s mission to cultivate creative thinking and encourage engagement in the arts for young people.
Ricky Gresh, Director of Community Projects
Since 1996, the ARTS Scholarships program has awarded over 900 scholarships to talented middle-school aged youth who are interested in studying the arts. Through the ARTS Scholarships program, young artists have received up to $600 to enroll and attend a summer arts-related educational program of their choosing. Previous recipients have attended the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, Rhode Island School of Design programs and Ballet RI (formerly known as Festival Ballet Providence), among many others.
The PPAC Marketing Department, working in partnership with the PPAC Board’s Community Outreach Committee, created the ARTS Scholarships program in 1996, thanks to a portion of the proceeds from the First Annual Greater Providence Gospel Fest, a production of the Providence Performing Arts Center which featured local, volunteer gospel choirs.
ARTS Scholarships are made possible by the generous support of the Textron Charitable Trust and PPAC’s Annual Fund donors, with additional support from WPRI CBS 12.
