What is PPAC's Security Policy?

PPAC requests that all guests arrive as early as possible and bring minimal personal belongings to the Theatre.

To ensure everyone's safety, guests entering PPAC must pass through metal detectors and are subject to having their bag(s) searched. Bags that pass inspection must fit comfortably under a seat.

Firearms, briefcases, suitcases, weapons, outside food and beverages are not allowed in the building.  Cameras and other recording devices are prohibited. There is no secure storage area; confiscated items cannot be returned.

Please note that a Providence Police detail is on site at all PPAC events.

PPAC management reserves the right to change the security policy or implement any security measures required for any performance without advance notice.

What is the dress code?

Although there is no formal dress code, PPAC patrons typically wear smart casual clothing.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest patrons arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the performance.

Latecomer Theatre Policy: Touring companies set the policy for allowing those who arrive past curtain time into the theatre. PPAC must ask late-arriving patrons to wait until the approved time to enter the theatre. Please plan ahead to arrive early and relax before the show begins.

What if I arrive late?

Although patrons make every effort to be on time for events out of respect for the performers and other theatergoers, sometimes traffic or weather problems intervene and late arrivals occur. Patrons arriving after curtain time may need to wait until the next available entrance time as determined by the guest performing company. Patrons may view the performance on the Flat Screens in the Lobby until they can enter the Theatre.

How long will the show last?

Most PPAC events are usually two to three hours long, including an intermission. We include approximate run times in our welcome emails.

Will there be an intermission?

Some shows offer a 15 to 20 minute intermission; others run with no intermission. This information is included in our welcome emails. To find out if there is an intermission, you can contact the Box Office at 401.421.ARTS (2787) beforehand, ask an usher or check your program book before curtain time.
