FAQs

How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets can be ordered online at anytime. Call (401) 421-ARTS (2787) during Box Office Hours to order subscriptions or tickets for individual shows (the Box Office will assist you with information about student and senior citizen pricing information; valid ID is required).

You may also call (401) 574-3136 for assistance with subscription information from Sharon Corcoran in Direct Response or email; direct@ppacri.org; M-F, 9A-5P.

For group information (20 or more for Broadway shows; 10 or more for most family shows) and special group discounts for students and senior citizens, contact Paul Hiatt at (401) 574-3162.

You can also fax your order to the PPAC Box Office at (401) 351-7827.

Mail your order form(s) to: Subscriptions/Providence Performing Arts Center 220 Weybosset Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02903-3783.

Tickets can also be bought in person by visiting the Box Office at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence. Regular Box Office Hours:  Monday-Friday, 10A – 5P; Saturday 10A-2P; and through curtain time(s) on show days.

What is the dress code?

Although there is no formal dress code, PPAC patrons typically wear smart casual clothing.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest patrons arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the performance. Latecomer Theatre Policy: Touring companies set the policy for allowing those who arrive past curtain time into the theatre. PPAC must ask late-arriving patrons to wait until the approved time to enter the theatre. Please plan ahead to arrive early and relax before the show begins.

What if I arrive late?

Although patrons make every effort to be on time for events out of respect for the performers and other theatergoers, sometimes traffic or weather problems intervene and late arrivals occur. Patrons may view the beginning of a show on the flat screens in the PPAC lobby – this will enable latecomers to watch the show until the theatre is re-opened to allow them into the show.

How long will the show last?

Most PPAC events are usually two to three hours long, including an intermission. Please take a look at the program before the start of the show to get an idea of what to expect.

Will there be an intermission?

To find out if there is an intermission you can contact the Box Office at (401) 421-ARTS beforehand, ask an usher before the show, or check your program book before curtain time.

Where do I park?

Parking is abundant and conveniently located close to PPAC in all directions. Metered street parking is available on the side streets surrounding PPAC.

Where can I find directions?

The Providence Performing Arts Center is located at 220 Weybosset Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02903. Please click here for directions to PPAC.

Can I bring food and drinks into the theatre?

Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the theatre. However, food and beverages are sold at our concession stand prior to the show’s beginning and also during intermission; these can be brought into the theatre.

What is the theatre's policy regarding inclement weather?

In the case of inclement weather, please visit our website or check your local TV or radio station for up-to-date event information.To obtain further information or assistance, please call the Box Office at (401) 421-2787.

What accommodations do you provide for guests with disabilities?

The Arcade, Grand Lobby, Orchestra Level, Mezzanine and First and Second Balconies are fully accessible from Weybosset Street. Notify the Box Office in advance of any physical limitations that restrict seating assignment. First floor restrooms, telephone and water fountain are fully accessible; restrooms off of the walkway behind first dress seating are also fully accessible, Ushers are available to assist patrons. Sign-Interpretation is available upon request. Assistive Listening Devices are available at the House Manager’s desk. A driver’s license or credit card will be requested as a deposit. Elevators provide access to the Mezzanine and First and Second Balconies.

Can I bring my mobile phone or pager with me into the theatre?

Phones and pagers are allowed inside the theatre; however; they must be shut off before the performance begins.

What is the Center's policy about exchanging tickets?

Can I bring my camera with me into the theatre?

Cameras are not allowed at any time, unless the photographer is approved by both venue and artist publicity.

What is the theatre's Out-of-State Ticket Policy?

There is a limit of 8 tickets per performance per person/credit card; regardless of the number of transactions. Credit cards with a billing address outside of RI, MA and CT will be limited to 2 tickets. We reserve the right to cancel ticket orders from states outside of RI, MA or CT if they are purchased with intent for resale. Ticket purchases are closely monitored; any sales above set parameters are subject to cancellation without notice. All tickets purchased by patrons from States other than RI, CT or MA will be held at the Box Office for pick-up. A valid photo ID and the credit card used to purchase will need to be presented when picking up the tickets. No exceptions will be made.
