Providence, RI – The President of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) J.L. “Lynn” Singleton announced today that Tony® and Emmy Award®-winning comedian, actor, producer, writer, and director BILLY CRYSTAL will perform his show “Spend the Night with Billy Crystal” as part of the 2017 PPAC Gala on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 7:30P.

“This show is unique. There’s stand up, and ‘sit down’ which gives me great freedom to tell stories, show film clips, and talk about my life and career and the world as I see it,” said Mr. Crystal.  “It’s loose, unpredictable, and intimate. The most fun I’ve had on stage in a long time.”

The PPAC Gala is a fundraiser for the Theatre and is a black-tie optional event. Gala tickets include prime seating to Mr. Crystal’s performance, a post-show party at PPAC, and parking. Gala tickets are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law. Individual Gala tickets may be purchased for $300 now by emailing PPAC Director of Ticketing Donna Santos at [email protected]

Non-Gala tickets for “Spend the Night with Billy Crystal” go on sale beginning Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10A at the PPAC Box Office, online at and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787).  Non-Gala tickets are $200 - $45; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge and are subject to change without notice. The PPAC Box Office is located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence. Box Office Hours are Monday – Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P and two hours prior to curtain times on performance days.

A stand-up comic turned television star, Mr. Crystal found fame as a movie funnyman with starring roles in blockbusters such as When Harry Met Sally, City Slickers and Analyze This. He was much loved as the acclaimed nine-time host of the Academy Awards, an achievement topped only by Bob Hope, who hosted the Oscars 19 times. Also an award-winning author, Crystal’s latest memoir, Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys? was an instant New York Times’ best-seller.
