- Bernadette Peters will portray Sally Durant Plummer in a revival of FOLLIES at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, scheduled to run May 7 to June 5, 2011. The New York Times reports that Peters is scheduled to remain with the Broadway revival of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC through early November.
- Amanda Palmer from The Dresden Dolls is starring as the Emcee in the American Repertory Theater (ART) production of CABARET<, August 31 through October 29. Palmer collaborated with her former Lexington High School drama teacher Steven Bogart for the production, according to The Boston Globe.
- Bradley Dean will replace Aaron Lazar in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on August 31, according to Broadway.com.
- The New York Times reports that Katie Finneran will leave the PROMISES, PROMISES cast on October 10. Finneran won the Tony Award for her portrayal of Marge MacDougal; watch her acceptance speech here.

- Jordin Sparks hurt her hip during the first act of IN THE HEIGHTS this past Saturday, according to Broadway.com. A return date has not been announced yet; Sparks is scheduled to perform in IN THE HEIGHTS through November 12.
- American Idol winner Jordin Sparks made her Broadway debut on August 19; she currently plays Nina in IN THE HEIGHTS. Playbill.com has pictures from her first night with the ITH cast. You can catch IN THE HEIGHTS at PPAC January 11- 16, 2011; tickets are on sale now!
- Whoopi Goldberg had to withdraw from her final performances of the West End production of SISTER ACT. TheaterMania.com reports that Goldberg’s mother had a severe stroke.
- The U.K.’s The Stage reports that GHOST THE MUSICAL will debut at the Manchester Opera House March 28 – May 14, 2011 before transferring to the West End in the summer. The original screenwriter for the film Ghost wrote the book and lyrics, while Dave Stewart from the Eurhythmics and Glenn Ballard (Alanis Morrisette’s producer) wrote the music and lyrics. .
